The Spinner Factory - Simulating a Real-World Assembly Line

The Spinner Factory exercise in the Advanced Robotics class is one of the largest, and most complicated guided projects that Creator Academy offers.

Utilising not one but two EV3 smart hubs linked by USB and consisting of multiple colour sensors, touch sensors and motors, the project simulates a real-world factory line environment.

Students learn about concepts such as safeguards against manufacturing errors, redundant and backup systems, and efficient production line techniques.

The Spinner Factory is an important step for robotics enthusiasts because it is a dramatic shift away from creating expressive robots, and toward purely functional robots like the ones that you would find in an assembly line.
