Since August, our Advanced Robotics teams have been building, coding and strategising for the First LEGO League INTO ORBIT tournament.
The action and excitement on the day did not disappoint!
Team Creator Academy Ev3lution scored an impressive 133 points for a 3rd placement. This is the highest that the team has scored in any situation (including at training!) so to get this almost flawless outcome in a high-pressure tournament setting is truly admirable!
Team Space Rebels scored the highest average in the robot game, delivering 80 points in two straight rounds and a strategic quirk during the third match scored them a maximum of 81 points to come sixth, what a delightful surprise!
Team Ranking Gears put on a heart-stopping show, scoring 101 points to come 4th in the final seconds of their match. The team's quick thinking and constant communication was rewarded with the Innovation & Strategy Award trophy.
Our teams put on a gutsy challenge in their first tournament. Here's to even more successes in the future.
