CA VEX Worlds Roundup

VEX Worlds is over, and our robotics teams have finally returned home!

Here's a roundup of our teams' results:

Congratulations to 27272A Phoenix Tech for achieving a top 8 result at the VRC Middle School Division! After three gruelling days of robotics, the team scored an impressive 8 wins and 5 losses, before being knocked out in the division quarterfinals by the new World Champions 3324U Supernova Hydra (USA) and 9123X Shanghai Ruiguan (CHN). They could not have bowed out to a more formidable opponent!
Big shout out to their brilliant alliance partner 839Z Caution Tape Robotics Club (CAN) for some epic matches.
Team 93131A Mecha Magpies is certainly one of the most well-prepared and dedicated teams from CA, going as far as hauling an entire gaming field to the USA and booking an AirBnB with massive floor space so that the team can practice all the way up until the tournament. The results speak for themselves, with the team scoring an impressive 96th place out of 800 in their robot skills ranking, and climbing to rank 26th in their division.
Despite not reaching the playoffs, the team put up a gutsy effort and earned praise from their peers.
Congratulations to our kids in 93131M Dingo Roos for coming 5th place in the Division Finals, and 57th out of 800 in Skills. Despite only doing VEX as a team for the first time, the Dingos performed well beyond expectations and make a big impact in their division. This huge result comes from consistent teamwork and innovation skills from all team members.
Worlds is a life changing experience that helps kids become more confident and determined students in the future. Already, our kids are vowing to do even better next time!
