Congratulations to CA students Jonathan and Justin for winning the World Artificial Intelligence Competition for Youth (WAICY) for the Elementary School section in 2021!
526 teams from 32 countries participated in the WAICY event this year, making it the biggest and most hotly contested WAICY competition ever!

Jonathan and Justin wowed the judges with their working prototype of a image-recognition system that can detect if a person is wearing a face mask or not when entering a building. Impressively, their system can even detect if a mask is being worn properly over the nose or not as well!
For their project, the duo won three prestigious awards:
- A.I. Excellence Award
- Design Excellence Award
- Gold Award (1st Place)
