CA Phoenix Tech Achieves 4th Place in Los Angeles Alliance Event

From Sydney to Los Angeles – CA Phoenix Tech just wrapped up an unforgettable journey at the Western Edge Open Championships in California!
Over the past 3 days, 83 of the world’s best FIRST LEGO League teams came together to compete, connect, and celebrate innovation. As the sole Australian team, we were proud to fly the flag and achieve our highest-ever score in the Submerged season robot game!
But the true highlight was the On The Spot Alliance Challenge – a whirlwind 24-hour "Secret Level" where students teamed up with strangers to design, build, and code an entirely new robot game solution with zero adult guidance.
Phoenix Tech joined forces with the incredible FLL SPORKlings (North Carolina) and Salem Renegade Robots (Michigan), and together – they placed 4th out of 28 alliances. The teamwork, late-night problem-solving, and cross-country collaboration was nothing short of amazing.
This is what we believe in: sharing knowledge, building resilience, and empowering students to lead. No matter where they come from, kids can rise to the occasion, work together, and achieve incredible things.
A big shout out to Kumon Australia & New Zealand for sponsoring the students throughout the year, allowing them to compete with confidence.
Thank you to FIRST Australia for delivering this fantastic STEM program for Aussie kids, and giving our students this opportunity of a lifetime.
