Phoenix Tech Qualifies for the FTC National Championships!

What an incredible day for our FTC team 31243 Phoenix Tech at their first-ever FIRST Tech Challenge tournament at Pymble Ladies' College!
This rookie team didn’t just participate — they exceeded every expectation, finishing with 4 wins and 2 losses and placing 5th out of 28 teams in the rankings. An unbelievable achievement for a first-year squad!

In playoffs, Phoenix Tech stepped up as alliance captains, selecting team 19296 3MB from Northern Beaches Secondary College Manly Campus. Together they formed the 4th ranked alliance, delivering strong performances before bowing out of eliminations.
The judges were equally impressed — especially by the team’s proactive sponsorship outreach with our Creator Academy partners Optus, Kumon Australia & New Zealand, and Acebott, which helped fund their rookie season. Thanks to this effort, Phoenix Tech earned the Sustain Award and secured their place at the FTC National Championships this December!

FTC is the exciting next step for students moving up from FIRST LEGO League — introducing them to engineering design, materials fabrication, budgeting, marketing, and the real-world business side of robotics along with high-level gameplay strategy.
Of course we couldn't have done this alone. Thank you Full STEAM Ahead and Project Bucephalus Robotics - FLL and FRC for expert coaching tips and support.
Thanks to Abbotsleigh robotics coaches for helping us source robotics equipment!
And finally a huge thank you to Pymble Ladies’ College and FIRST Australia for hosting such an inspiring event and giving our students this incredible opportunity.
Congratulations Phoenix Tech — Nationals next!
