OPTUS Satellite Station Excursion

Over the last few days, twenty Creator Academy students participated in our annual Competition Readiness Workshop, where they gained experience in all our competition systems: FIRST LEGO League (FLL Challenge), VEX IQ Robotics Competition (VIQRC) and VEX Robotics Competition (VRC).

One of the highlights of our competition workshop is our excursion to see real-world applications of STEAM. This year, Optus kindly offered our students a tour of the Belrose Satellite Ground Station.

During the excursion, Optus specialists showcased the inner workings of satellite communications and navigation technology, rocketry and engineering. At the end of the excursion, students were also treated to an energetic science presentation delivered by Fizzics Education.

We cannot wait to see how students apply the learnings to their FIRST LEGO League innovation projects and VEX mechanisms this year!
